This is what you call a sting in the tail! Coming into the homestretch of yesterday’s IAAF World Relays men’s 4 x 400-metre final, it looked as if even his famous late kick wouldn’t be enough for Machel Cedenio to overhaul the United States’ Paul Dedewo in the race for gold.

Certainly the television race commentator in the Japanese city of Yokohama felt Trinidad and Tobago’s anchor man had more to worry about behind him to hold on the silver medal position, under threat from Jamaica.
