INJURED: Khalifa St Fort

St Fort out World Relays

03/05/2019

KHALIFA St Fort has withdrawn from the IAAF World Relays in Yokohama, Japan. Trinidad and Tobago team manager Dexter Voisin told the Express yesterday that the 21-year-old sprinter opted out of the May 11-12 meet “due to an injury picked up in practice this week”.

“At this stage,” Voisin continued, “Khalifa can’t be replaced.” With St Fort out, there are just four athletes travelling to Japan for women’s 4×100 metres duty – Commonwealth Games 100 metres champion Michelle-Lee Ahye, Semoy Hackett, Kamaria Durant and Reyare Thomas. The experienced Kelly-Ann Baptiste is a notable absentee.
