T-EESHAWNA POPE got off the canvas and claimed the gold medal in the Under-13 girls 100 metres at the 31st edition of the Milo Rotary Port of Spain Games, held yesterday at Hasely Crawford Stadium in Mucurapo.
Pope was leading the eight-strong field all the way but she stumbled near the finish line. Even so, she still did enough to cross the line first. “I stumbled at the finish line,” she said. Just 10 years old, the Memphis Pioneers sprinter has already been running for half her life.
