Teenager Ianna Roach warmed up for this weekend’s Carifta trials with a solid outing at the Cleopatra Borel Foundation Throws Meet, held at the Hasely Crawford Stadium in Port of Spain, last Saturday.
Roach was the best athlete on show with the four-kilogramme iron ball, beating all the women’s and Girls Under-20 competitors with a 13.08 metres effort. Twenty-four year-old Shaunna Downey was next best with an 11.26m throw. Masters athlete Gwendolyn Smith produced a 13.66m effort with the 3K shot.
