Gittens took the top spot in the women’s high jump first with a 1.88m-leap. This followed up her bronze-medal performance in the women’s long jump the day before. Her best effort came on her fourth attempt which measured 6.43m.

He did not go home empty-handed though as his UK unit won section one in the men’s 4x400m relay with 3:05.46, with the T&T athlete running the anchor leg, to emerge the overall champion of the 11 teams that competed.
