KYLE GREAUX and Kelly-Ann Baptiste were in winners’ row at the Pure Athletics Sprint Elite meet in Florida, USA, on Sunday. Greaux grabbed gold in the men’s 200 metres event, while Baptiste did the same in the women’s 100.
Greaux outclassed his rivals, the Trinidad and Tobago sprinter stopping the clock at 20.15 seconds for a huge margin of victory. Italian Antonio Infantino was a distant second in 20.73, while third spot went to American Tony McQuay (20.83).
Baptiste clocked 11.18 seconds for an impressive victory in the women’s 100m final. The T&T track star finished well ahead of Barbara Pierre and Javianne Oliver, the American duo earning silver and bronze, respectively, in 11.34 and 11.48. In the preliminary round, Baptiste won heat one in 11.14 to emerge as the fastest qualifier.
