THE Sport Company of TT (SporTT) presented a cheque worth $19,171,368 in total to several national governing bodies at the National Aquatic Centre in Couva, on Tuesday.
A SporTT statement said it “represents monies given to date for various activities.”
The cheque was presented by head, sport development at SporTT Justin Latapy-George, along with assistant director, physical education and sport at the Ministry of Sport and Community Development Patrice Charles.
The sporting bodies benefitting were the Aquatics Sports Association of TT, TT Cycling Federation, TT Sailing Association, TT Netball Association, TT Amateur Boxing Association, TT Hockey Board, TT Gymnastics Federation, TT Rugby Union, National Association of Athletics Administrations, TT Volleyball Federation, TT Golf Association, TT Football Association, TT Cricket Board and the Tennis Association of TT.
National Association of Athletics Administrations of Trinidad and Tobago hosts athletic track and field meets, posts athletic heats and events results, athlete records and rankings. NAAATT organises championship race fixtures, gold, silver and bronze award ceremonies, coaching and certification resources for athletes and sports clubs in Trinidad and Tobago.
