Gittens, who made her Olympic debut at the 2020 Tokyo Games last year in the women’s long jump, competed in the women’s high jump.
Gittens of Texas A&M University jumped 1.89m to claim second spot.
Jamaican Lamara Distin, also of Texas A&M, won gold with an effort of 1.92m.
Rachel Glenn of South Carolina took bronze clearing the bar at the 1.86m mark.
