TYRIQ HORSFORD produced the second best throw of his career to claim men’s javelin bronze on day one of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division 1 Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Texas, USA, on Wednesday night. The Trinidad and Tobago athlete landed the spear 75.59 metres.
Horsford featured in a Mississippi State University podium sweep. Grenadian Anderson Peters threw a personal best 86.62m to retain his NCAA title, while second spot went to American Curtis Thompson at 78.43. The winning effort from Peters was a meet record as well as a Grenada national record.
