TT will be hunting a medal in the men’s 4x400m relay final in the IAAF World Relays in Yokohama, Japan, today.
The quartet of Deon Lendore, Jereem Richards, Asa Guevera and Machel Cedenio will run out of lane four in the final alongside Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Australia, Jamaica, Japan, USA, Belgium and South Africa.
TT earned a place in the final after winning heat three in a season best time of three minutes and 02.49 seconds (3:02.49). South Africa also qualified from heat three after finishing second in 3:02.77.
The first two in each of the three heats along with the next two fastest times qualified for the final.
The TT women’s 4x100m team of Kamaria Durant, Michelle-Lee Ahye, Reyare Thomas and Semoy Hackett did not advance to the finals.
TT finished third in heat one in a season best time of 43.67, but it was not enough to qualify for today’s final. USA won the heat in 42.51 and Brazil ended second in 43.07 to book places in the final.
