Trinidad and Tobago stood in awe on Sunday morning, utterly amazed by Machel Cedenio’s come-from-behind run in the IAAF World Relays men’s 4×400 metres final in Yokohama, Japan, last week Sunday. The jaw-dropping finish resulted in gold for Deon Lendore, Jereem “The Dream” Richards, Asa Guevara and Cedenio.

Celebrations ensued for what was a total team effort, for while Cedenio was in the spotlight with his “finish for the ages”, his teammates ensured the anchorman got the baton within striking distance of his American counterpart. Very few quartermilers would have been able to close the gap that existed at the start of that final leg. Cedenio, though, is one of them.
