Portious Warren produced another impressive performance on the US collegiate circuit, striking gold in the women’s shot put at Friday’s Crimson Tide Invitational, in Alabama. The University of Alabama senior threw the iron ball a personal best 17.64 metres – a new school record.
“This weekend I tried to go into the meet with a different kind of mindset,” Warren said, in an interview published on University of Alabama website www.rolltide.com. “Tried not to be complacent with whatever mark I started with. It was my last home meet and I just wanted to put on a show. I was able to come out with a school record and PR (personal record), so I am grateful for that.”
