Khalifa St Fort opened her 2019 campaign with victory at the Rafer Johnson and Jackie Joyner-Kersee Invitational in California, USA, last Saturday. The Florida-based sprinter topped the women’s 200 metres field in 23.52 seconds.
Michelle-Lee Ahye was also in winners’ row, in Texas. In her first outdoor race this year, the Incarnate Word Invitational women’s 200m, the 2018 First Citizens Sports Foundation Sportswoman of the Year struck gold in 23.61 seconds. Another Trinidad and Tobago athlete, Reyare Thomas clocked 23.97 to bag bronze.
