JAYDEN SCOTT overcame his nerves at the Truman Bodden Complex here in George Town, Cayman Islands, yesterday to put Trinidad and Tobago on the Carifta Games medal table. Scott fouled his first attempt in the boys’ under-17 shot put but bounced back with a 15.08 metres throw in round two, the big effort earning the T&T field athlete the bronze medal.
“I feel very proud of myself,” Scott told the Sunday Express. “I’m very satisfied with my distance. This is my first Carifta, so at first I was afraid to compete. But when I realised this is like normal training, I got out of my shell and got comfortable out there.”
