Akeem Stewart smashed his own F43 shot put world record at the Hurricane Invitational in Florida, USA, on Saturday. The Trinidad and Tobago para athlete threw the six-kilogramme iron ball 20.43 metres.
Stewart opened the competition with a solid 18.41m effort. And then, in round two, he let loose a big 20.25m world record throw, obliterating the 19.08m standard he had established in winning the F44 title at the 2017 World Para Athletics Championships.
