Portious Warren powered her way to women’s shot put gold at the Southeastern Conference (SEC) Indoor Track and Field Championships in Arkansas, USA, last weekend. The University of Alabama senior threw the iron ball an indoor best 17.30 metres.
Warren opened with a 16.53m throw, the solid effort earning her the lead. The T&T field athlete stayed in front for the entire competition, celebrating her triumph with the big 17.30m heave in the sixth and final round. Warren was also in fine form in the weight throw, producing a personal best 20.33m effort to secure fourth spot.
