AARON Antoine, the boys’ Under-20 high jump champion at this year’s Carifta Games in Kingston, Jamaica, will headline a group of 14 athletes who will compete at the 2022 World Athletics U-20 Championships (World Junior Championships).
The Championships will take place from August 1-6 at the Estadio Olimpico Pascual Guerrero in Cali, Colombia.
Devin Augustine will participate in the men’s 100m and 200m, as well as the 4x100m relay. Other athletes listed to feature in the men’s 4x100m are Anthony Diaz, Jaden De Souza, Shakeem McKay, Elijah Simmons and Revell Webster.
Diaz will compete in the javelin as well, while De Souza will be an alternate in the men’s 100m. Webster is due to participate in the 100m (he is also alternate in the 200m). Mc Kay is also in the mix for a medal in the 200m, while Dillon Leacock will compete in the 400m hurdles.
Among the females, Reneisha Andrews, Shaniqua Bascombe, Kayla Caesar, Natasha Fox and Kyah La Fortune will comprise the 4x100m relay team, while Lalenii Grant will participate in the discus.
Bascombe will also compete in the 100m and 200m, Fox will also run in the 400m and La Fortune will participate in the 100m.
The technical staff will include Kerron Browne, Kelvin Nancoo and Wellington Wilson (coaches), Michelle Stoute (manager) and Anthony Walcott (massage therapist).
